We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Officer to join our team at the City of Houston, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing IT security plans and controls to protect our systems and data from cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement IT security plans and controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats
* Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security risks
* Implement security measures to mitigate identified risks
* Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are followed
* Develop and maintain security policies and procedures
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Management and Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field
* At least 5 years of experience implementing IT security plans and controls in a department or enterprise IT environment
* Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification
* Experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Top 20
* Knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption
