Job Summary

The Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team. As an EMT, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily vehicle equipment preparation and inspection to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Collect and document all pertinent information related to patient care and transportation.
  • Confirm dispatch information and determine the best route to and from calls, ensuring safe and responsible driving practices.
  • Park ambulances safely and determine additional resources needed, initiating assessment and treatment based on patient needs.
  • Communicate with receiving facilities and continue ongoing assessment and treatment as determined by patient needs and protocols.
  • Transfer patients, records, and information to receiving facility staff.
  • Restock ambulances, replace drug boxes and equipment, and complete all reports and data information.
Requirements
  • Current Alabama license as EMT Basic/Driver.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Acceptable driver record.
  • Ability to work overtime as required and be flexible with scheduling to meet department and hospital staffing needs.
