Job Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care in post-acute care facilities in nearby areas.
  • Be accountable to follow and adhere to care plans for residents.
  • Check vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse, and provide regular reports to the broader nursing team.
  • Observe the conditions of residents on an ongoing basis, alerting supervising staff to any concerns or emergencies.
  • Help residents perform activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting, grooming, personal hygiene, and feeding.
  • Change linens, sanitize surfaces, and perform other tasks to provide a clean and sanitary environment for residents.
  • Serve as an important go-between for residents and healthcare staff.
  • Stay engaged with residents and offer daily companionship and comfort.
  • Communicate with family members and other visitors and help to address their concerns.
  • Move residents safely and comfortably to and from exam tables, beds, and wheelchairs, repositioning them as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Current Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and nursing care procedures.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Effective organizational skills and communication skills.
  • Appropriate bedside manner.
