Job Summary

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative operations of Farmworker Justice. The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and operations, with experience in managing staff and financial processes in a non-profit environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the administrative team, including finance, HR, and facilities.
  • Develop and implement financial and operational strategies to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements, including tax laws and grant regulations.
  • Lead the annual audit and prepare financial statements and tax returns.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, banks, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance and operations team.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in finance and operations, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Proven experience in managing staff and financial processes.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000 commensurate upon experience. This is a full-time, exempt position based in Washington, DC. FJ offers a generous benefits package, including health, dental, vision, Life, LTD and STD insurance, generous PTO and paid holidays, and a 403b retirement program with a 4% employer contribution after 1 year of service.
