Assistant Title IX Administrator

The University of Southern Mississippi is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Title IX Administrator.

Position Overview

The Assistant Administrator will support the Title IX Coordinator in the comprehensive execution of Title IX, VAWA, and Campus Save Act initiatives. This role will primarily focus on the investigation and resolution of allegations related to sexual misconduct, alongside the coordination of outreach programs for the campus community across various locations. The individual will report directly to the University Title IX Coordinator, under the guidance of the Office of the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer the investigatory process with impartiality and thoroughness.
  2. Manage the intake process for incoming Title IX cases.
  3. Oversee administrative functions within the Title IX Office.
  4. Facilitate training, prevention, and educational initiatives concerning gender discrimination and sexual harassment for the campus community at all locations. Demonstrate a solid understanding of Title IX, VAWA, and Campus Save Act regulations.
  5. Engage with diverse stakeholders to foster trust and collaborative relationships. Exhibit exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in large group settings and individual interactions.
  6. Utilize software tools to generate reports and manage routine correspondence.
  7. Act as a representative of the Title IX Coordinator and Title IX Office as necessary.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in higher education administration, psychology, social work, or a related field, accompanied by at least one year of experience in Title IX and investigative processes (or equivalent experience).

A Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, psychology, social work, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of Title IX investigator training and investigative experience (or equivalent experience).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with various constituent groups.
  • Experience in programming and conducting presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capability to fulfill all essential functions outlined in the job description.
  • Familiarity with Title IX, Office for Civil Rights guidance, and related Title IX legislation and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral Degree.
