We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Nurse Manager to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating and assisting with all levels of nursing care provided to patients within our Cardiac Observation Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Clinical Nurses with day-to-day problem solving and facilitate communication between care team providers.
- Have shift accountability for care delivery, patient flow, matching patient needs with available resources, and elevating patient safety concerns/situations.
- Coordinate the activities of nursing staff, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the unit and staff.
- Provide expert patient care and ensure an exceptional patient and family experience on the individual nursing unit/practice setting.
- Assist in the advancement of the professional practice environment by communicating the NGHS nursing strategic direction and focusing on activities that support the Nursing Strategic Initiatives.
- Participate actively in the planning and distribution of patient assignments, attending daily bed huddles during shift, and facilitating decision-making with respect to patient flow.
- Maintain regular ongoing contact/communication with all levels of nursing staff, actively supporting and promoting a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards.
- Ensure compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality controls, and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or within three (3) years of hire into the position.
- Three (3) years of direct care RN nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Masters Degree (Nursing or other if possessing a BSN) within five (5) years of hire.
- Meets all competency requirements defined by unit, including critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate nursing care provided to patients, provide consultation to staff, patients, and the public, and direct the training of professional and nonprofessional personnel.
