Position Overview:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Baxter Regional Medical Center, you will collaborate closely with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure outstanding patient care. Key Responsibilities:
Daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluating lab results and imaging reports;
- Coordinating patient care across various departments;
- Preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and collecting specimens;
- Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system;
- Assisting healthcare providers with clinical procedures;
- Staying informed about commonly prescribed medications and their interactions;
Qualifications:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Licensure:
Current Practical Nurse license in good standing from Arkansas or a Compact State.
Experience:
Open to training recent LPN graduates; prior clinic experience is preferred.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal forms. Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
Safety Considerations:
This role is classified as safety-sensitive in accordance with relevant regulations.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include:
- Effective communication skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist for extended periods (8-10 hours).
- Occasional lifting of equipment weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Capability to assist in lifting patients weighing 125 pounds or more.
- Proficiency in using a computer for extended periods.
- Quick response in emergency situations, including CPR.
- Ability to manage high-stress scenarios with composure.
Work Environment:
This position is situated in a clinical setting, operational for 8-12 hours daily, throughout the year. Flexibility for holiday shifts and inclement weather is required.
