Position Overview

The Director of Psychometrics, Patient Centered Outcomes (PCO) plays a pivotal role in guiding the design and implementation of clinical outcome assessment (COA) studies. These studies are crucial for advancing our clients' COA strategies within both clinical trials and observational research.

The psychometrics team is dedicated to various aspects of instrument development, psychometric evaluation (utilizing both classical and modern methodologies), and the analysis of COA-based endpoints, including longitudinal modeling and survival analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to enhance awareness of the PCO team's capabilities.
  • Lead proposal development and actively pursue new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and manage mid-level and junior team members.
  • Oversee the design and execution of COA studies that comply with international scientific standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Guide the creation of statistical and validation analysis plans, conducting psychometric and quantitative analyses to fulfill study objectives.
  • Advise on COA-focused strategies for client interactions and submissions to regulatory bodies.
  • Present research findings to clients and external stakeholders, including at scientific conferences.
  • Oversee the preparation of essential study documents such as proposals, protocols, and technical reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • MSc or PhD in Biostatistics, Psychometrics, or a related field such as Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Psychology.
  • 8+ years of experience in consulting, pharmaceutical, or industry settings.
  • Extensive experience in patient-centered outcomes research, including COA instrument development and psychometric validation.
  • Proven history of interaction with regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or SAS.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance on COAs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in business development with a focus on generating growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a global team environment.
  • High proficiency in MS365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
