Paramedic - Per Diem - Express Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham. As a Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care duties and assessment under the guidance and delegation of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the registered nurse
- Maintain skill level to perform patient care tasks and interventions within scope of practice after competency validation
- Administer medications and intravenous fluids and monitor outcomes as delegated by registered nurse following provider order and hospital policy after competency validation
- Document care provided and patient's progress toward attainment of desired outcomes in electronic medical record
- Complete the intake assessment specific to the department they are assigned to and documents it in the EHR
- Initiate treatment and testing based on department protocols
- Recognize high risk patients and situations and communicate with charge RN to coordinate patient placement
- Perform additional job specific requirements and other duties as assigned after competency validation
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in patient care and assessment, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
