We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented New Grad Telemetry professional to join our team at Lutheran Medical Center. As a New Grad Telemetry specialist, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and participate in patient care delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your clinical skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care, and communicating effectively with the care team.
- Perform clinical skills and tasks with defined competencies, including insertion, maintenance, and removal of PIVs, Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes.
- Assist nurses and physicians within scope and competency, and participate in patient education related to disease process, medications, and interventions.
- Document patient care with additional signature of Registered Nurse, and assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges as directed.
- Unlicensed graduate of an accredited BSN or ADN program with completion of all necessary clinical coursework.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work well with others.
