Position Description

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Imaging Specialist to enhance our clinical team. The specialist will utilize radiographic equipment to generate diagnostic images in accordance with established physician protocols and assist in various procedures. Beyond routine imaging tasks, the specialist will take on responsibilities in designated areas and provide support to other departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and guide patients to the appropriate examination room.
  • Collect patient history to ensure accurate scheduling and imaging.
  • Inquire about the last menstrual period for female patients of childbearing age to assess pregnancy risk.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any questions.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety by removing any obstructive items from the imaging area.
  • Implement radiation safety measures for patients and staff, adhering to ALARA principles.
  • Adjust technical settings based on patient size to produce high-quality radiographs.
  • Evaluate radiographs for quality and make necessary adjustments or repeats.
  • Assist the pain management team during fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to the department supervisor.
  • Participate in the training of new staff members.
  • Uphold safe radiologic practices in line with established quality assurance policies.
  • Embody the core values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Active registration and certification through the ARRT.
  • Valid radiology licensure in the relevant state for candidates in New York and New Jersey.
  • Active Florida CRT licensure for candidates in Florida.
  • Familiarity with x-ray and epidural procedures is essential.
  • Proficiency in operating radiologic equipment and computer systems.
