As a Clinical Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care possible.

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Care Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care activities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and promoting evidence-based practices.

About the Role

  • Salary: Up to $85,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Job Summary: The Clinical Care Specialist will assume shift responsibilities for the care delivery team, including prioritizing, delegating, and evaluating patient care. This role also involves coordinating the provision of care through assigning and scheduling staff, as well as participating in process improvement activities.
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Functions as lead and resource person for nursing personnel, acting as a clinical resource person and assisting the clinical manager in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development.
  2. Collaborates with the manager in prospective monitoring of the schedule to assure adequate nurse-patient ratio on a given shift, reviews monthly schedule, and communicates with the staffing office regarding staffing changes.
  3. Facilitates shared decision making among staff, facilitates unit throughput on a given shift to improve Length of Stay (LOS), coordinates/provides in-service programs to assist staff to maintain or enhance their competence in fulfilling job responsibilities based on identified needs of patient care personnel.
  4. May assist the manager with interview, selection, retention, mentoring, and evaluation of staff.
  5. Participates in development of policies, procedures, and standards for the department, assists with department Process Improvement and Peer Review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate Degree/Diploma required.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan.
  • One to two years of progressively more responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes.
  • Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria, if an internal candidate, preferred.
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred.
