Key Responsibilities- Evaluate Construction Routes and Traffic Flow: Assess the construction route and traffic flow prior to project start to ensure a smooth and safe installation process.
- Customer Engagement: Meet with residential customers to address any concerns they may have and provide information on the installation process.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with contractors to review job details and discuss any concerns they may have.
- Progress Mapping: Map the progress of the job daily to ensure timely completion.
- Field Decision Making: Make field decisions on-line placement when unknown conflicts arise.
- Tie-In Point Verification: Verify that tie-in points meet minimum wall thickness requirements by observing measurements and documenting results.
- Best Management Practices: Understand and implement Best Management Practices, including proper placement of silt fencing and hay socks.
- Welding and Coating Inspection: Visually inspect welding requirements for taps and tees and ensure adherence to fusion procedures.
- OQ Skills Maintenance: Maintain appropriate OQ skills and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Service Installation: Determine if services need to be installed, including meter placement for relocates and move-outs.
- Coordination and Communication: Coordinate tie-ins with construction department and service re-builds with service department, and communicate effectively with co-workers and clients.
- Paperwork and Reporting: Complete all paperwork, including OQ lists, completion reports, and as-built install and retirement drawings.
- Physical Demands: Perform moderate physical activity, including walking on uneven surfaces, frequent bending, and working in a loud construction environment.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 2 minimum years of experience in the natural gas industry and natural gas distribution experience is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to read construction prints, sketch construction drawings, and use software for construction diagrams.
- Physical Abilities: Must be able to perform moderate physical activity and work in a loud construction environment.
