Job Summary
The Ace Store Director is responsible for ensuring superior customer service in their store. They must develop Associates at all levels, drive sales and profitability, and maintain effective expense and payroll budget management. They will also ensure compliance with effective inventory management and merchandising practices and all store policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly.
- Hire, train, and develop retail staff with goals for growth and success in their positions, provide performance feedback, and recognize accomplishments.
- Perform bookkeeping and payroll functions.
- Control shrink, expenses, and labor.
- Coordinate the overall supervision of retail staff to ensure sales performance goals are met and procedures are followed accurately.
- Regulate retail inventory to reduce shrinkage, maintain appropriate stock levels, and ensure report accuracy.
- Direct the shipping, receiving, and inventory flow for the store.
- Forecast scheduling needs to meet customer demand and create work schedules.
- Delegate daily workload among Associates to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards.
- Aware of competition activity and report results: share information with supervisor and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all laws, policies, and procedures.
- Follow all ACE programs/promotions.
- Act as Niemann Foods representative within the store and community.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures; be a safety role model.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Possess vast product knowledge of hardware-related products.
- Minimum of 2 years retail management experience.
- Knowledge of retail computer systems, Word, and Excel a plus.
Language Skills
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and sales per associate hour).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Some locations may require Power Industrial Truck Certification.
