Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at the Alaska Heart Institute. As a key member of our Imaging Services department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic echocardiography on adult patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography procedures on adult patients under physician orders, adhering to National and AHI guidelines.
  • Complete technologist impressions of studies, often in written form, and provide evaluation, coordination, and supervision of technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality images and required measurements are obtained per ASE guidelines.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, terminology, and disease processes.
  • High level of analytical ability to obtain appropriate images and required measurements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a primary or assistant cardiac Echocardiographer.
  • Completion of Registry by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and current CPR certification.
