We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. This is a full-time permanent position with an estimated salary of $85,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, maintaining existing ones, and processing sales orders for FRICK branded airside equipment used primarily in food processing rooms. You will work independently and as part of a group to meet company goals, using commercially available CAD and engineering software along with proprietary in-house engineering configuration tools.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Designing, modeling, annotating/drawing, and BOM releasing of Hygienic Air Handling Units (AcuAir) and Frick Penthouse Evaporator (FPHE) solutions.
  • Providing technical guidance to Engineering, Suppliers, Purchasing, Customers, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Resolving shop and end-user issues, including improvements in design and fabrication.
  • Independently reading and interpreting schematics and drawings.
  • Awareness of applicable national and international codes and ability to interpret and seek experts when necessary.
  • Evaluating and implementing corrective action to resolve quality issues.

You will also have the opportunity to travel occasionally to acquire training within the industry and resolve supplier and customer issues.
