About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technician to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a Surgical Scrub Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess surgical procedures and ensure availability of necessary instrumentation, supplies, and equipment.
  • Prepare operating rooms for assigned cases, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and ready for use.
  • Ensure operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases.
  • Clean, arrange, and transport medical instruments to the soiled utility room according to department policy.
  • Perform administrative duties, including admitting and discharging patients, maintaining front desk logs and phone books, and managing infant security system alarms.
  • Assist with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED, plus a graduate of an accredited Scrub Technologist school/program or 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
  • Ability to don and perform routine tasks in personal protective equipment, including N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
