Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess driver skills and knowledge in areas such as driving, loading, and unloading operations
  • Schedule, conduct, and coordinate training sessions for drivers
  • Train new drivers and provide refresher training to existing drivers
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to reduce accidents and injuries
  • Collaborate with terminal leadership to identify safety and training needs
  • Facilitate driver instructor meetings and mentor new drivers
  • Lead continuous safety performance improvements and guide terminals in reducing and preventing injuries, accidents, and spills
  • Coordinate OSHA and internal inspections, and conduct annual OSHA inspections and log spot checks
  • Develop and schedule topics and special interest agenda items for safety meetings
  • Conduct training and safety awareness campaigns and develop associated materials
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; job experience may substitute
  • Class A CDL preferred with tanker and hazmat endorsements
  • Driver instructor experience
  • Strong vision and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Broad-based experience in safety or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Geotab experience
  • Ability to adapt to various personality types
  • Public speaking and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Process-oriented with a strong drive for standardization
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position requires the ability to supervise personnel involved in classroom and hands-on training of up to 15+ students on a periodic basis.
