KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpreting and analyzing technical blueprints and design specifications.
- Calculating and developing programs for CNC workstations to produce component parts according to engineering standards.
- Collaborating with Engineering and Management teams to verify parts meet specifications and shop drawings.
- Creating CNC programs for production runs.
- Examining drawings to determine dimensions and select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.
- Modifying existing programs for various machines.
- Maintaining the tooling database.
- Making manual adjustments to programs as needed.
- Loading raw materials into CNC machines.
- Inputting product designs into computer modeling software.
- Selecting and loading the correct cutting tools for tasks.
- Adjusting machine settings to meet product specifications.
- Troubleshooting manufacturing issues as they arise.
- Conducting quality control tests during production and on final products.
- Cleaning and maintaining machinery.
- Training new employees on machine operation protocols.
- Reading production schedules and planning material usage to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Adhering to all operational procedures, instructions, and safety regulations.
- Effectively communicating and collaborating with team members, especially during shift transitions.
- Identifying and reporting quality concerns to operators, line leads, or supervisors.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a technical or associate degree program is advantageous.
- Experience in programming 3- and 5-axis CNC mills.
- Familiarity with Mastercam and GeoPath software.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Prior experience as a CNC programmer.
- Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.
- Extensive experience with computer modeling software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical capability to lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work after hours when necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While executing job duties, the employee will engage in repetitive movements, requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling materials of varying sizes and weights for extended periods. Regular lifting or moving of up to 10-15 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting or moving of up to 75 pounds, utilizing proper lifting techniques and assistance as needed.
