Job Summary

This is a hybrid role that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager. As a Senior RF Systems Engineer or Lead Network Optimization Specialist, you will have a positive impact on our organization, and change the way that our customers live, work, and play.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Optimization: You will proactively provide support for overall network performance as a member of the RF Design Team. You will be responsible for the design and optimization of sites in a geographic area.
  • RF Analysis and Planning: You will design and plan the Radio Frequency Network for Verizon LTE and 5G which includes RF analysis, search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
  • Site Redesign and Integration: You will redesign mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of the network to ensure performance fixes/initiatives are in place.
  • Regulatory Compliance: You will use internal tools (FUZE, ATOLL) to process regulatory compliance.
  • Macro and Small Cell Design: You will perform Macro and Small Cell Design including antenna selection and placement, utilizing knowledge of 5G, LTE, CDMA 1x, EVDO, and microwave to contribute in network design.
  • New Site Development: You will work on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance.
  • FCC/FAA Submissions: You will prepare timely FCC/FAA submissions.
  • Team Collaboration: You will interface with project managers, real estate, construction, field operations, engineering, sales, marketing, finance and regulatory to ensure that our network quality and financial objectives are met.
  • Performance Improvement: You will partner with System Performance to improve various Network Key Performance Indicators.
  • Customer Support: You will support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Leadership and Direction: You will provide leadership and direction to your team as well as other network teams.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: You will provide subject matter expertise by helping to train new team members as well as mentor current engineers.
  • Issue Resolution: You will take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience: A Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Relevant Work Experience: Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • RF Design Experience: Experience in RF design and optimization.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering Background: A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
  • RF Theory and Practice: Knowledge of RF theory and practice, as well as LTE/VoLTE technology.
  • LTE/VoLTE Network Experience: Experience in design & optimization of LTE/VoLTE networks.
  • Propagation Modeling Software: Knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Atoll etc.
  • LTE Network KPIs and Parameters: Understanding of LTE network KPIs and key parameters.
  • Presentation Skills: Presentation skills and ability to create Power Points.
  • Analytic and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent analytic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Ability to Thrive: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and resolve issues.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Superior organizational time management, prioritization, and project planning skills.
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to build trust and engagement, and act as an influencer/leader at all levels within the group.
