Position Overview:
The Pediatric Unit at UMC Children's Hospital features a 25-bed facility dedicated to providing care for patients aged 0-20. Our nursing team in this unit thrives in a collaborative environment, delivering both medical and surgical care through a multidisciplinary approach.
Our pediatric specialists encompass over 30 experts across various fields, ensuring comprehensive treatment for a wide array of conditions, including trauma, general surgery, cardiology, neurology, oncology/hematology, and burn care.
The nursing professionals in our Pediatric Unit are committed to serving children and their families within a supportive and service-oriented framework.
Key Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, implementing, delegating, planning, and evaluating total nursing care in alignment with established philosophies. This role involves providing and directing patient care for a designated group of patients while ensuring effective communication with other shifts and departments to maintain optimal continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Valid Texas RN License or Eligible Compact License
- Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association
- BSN required
- Certification as a Pediatric Nurse is preferred
