Job Overview

SpartanNash, a leading food solutions company, is seeking a skilled Customer Service Team Lead to join our team. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth.

About the Role

This position is responsible for providing high-standard customer service in front-end operations, supervising and directing all front-end activities when the Customer Service Manager is absent. You will be accountable for ensuring that your work shifts contribute to the store's financial best interests.

Main Responsibilities

  • Transaction Accuracy: Ensure accurate performance of all transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, ID requirements, over rings, credits, suspended orders, refunds, bottle returns, vendor coupons, gift certificates, lottery ticket sales, Western Union, Ticket Master, and other media according to policies.
  • Return-to-Stock Items: Handle return-to-stock items promptly and orderly, prioritizing perishable items.
  • Product Knowledge: Possess thorough knowledge of product locations in the store.
  • Advertised Items: Be knowledgeable about advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, or other features applying to the store's sales program.
  • Training and Supervision: Train others to perform department activities and functions. Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others to meet or exceed departmental productivity levels.
  • Spoiled/Damaged Products: Handle spoiled/damaged products per established guidelines.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
  • PPE and Safety Guidelines: Follow all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
  • Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations: Adhere to all Food Safety and cleaning expectations.
  • Guest Experience Guidelines: Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.

Necessary Qualifications

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in using computers, email, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Communication: Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping: Accounting/bookkeeping skills, including interpreting and analyzing financials.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets.
  • Leadership: Delegate, direct, and implement tasks effectively.
  • Sales Skills: Suggestive selling and knowledge of products.
  • Detailed-Oriented: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $45,000-$60,000 based on national averages and considering factors such as location, experience, and industry standards. Compensation may vary based on individual qualifications and negotiations during the hiring process.
