Key Responsibilities
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all facilities and grounds, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and multipurpose rooms, to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, including drywall repairs, minor carpentry, and equipment maintenance.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the exterior of our schools, including landscaping, snow removal, and trash removal.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and assist with crisis situations as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of our facilities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; continuing education in construction or facilities management preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a custodian, janitor, or in a similar role.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, physical stamina, and ability to lift 35+ pounds.
  • Certifications: NYS fingerprint clearance required.
