We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Assess the physical condition of the patient and select the appropriate equipment for blood collection.
- Draw blood from adult, pediatric, and infant patients, and conduct specimen delivery to the laboratory.
- Verify patient identification and calculate the quantity of blood needed for diagnostic studies.
- Follow approved standard precautions, including aseptic techniques and protective gear.
- Instruct patients on the collection of blood, urine, sputum, and stool specimens.
- Restock lab supplies and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Phlebotomy Technician Certification preferred.
- 0-5 years of technical experience required.
Northwell Health offers a competitive salary range of $26.04-$28.90/hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
