Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Community Counseling Center is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Lou Masterman Center (LMC) in Cape Girardeau, MO.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide direct care to clients with chronic mental health diagnoses. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and therapeutic environment, teaching functional living skills, and collaborating with the treatment team to coordinate client care services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care to clients in a trauma-informed approach, promoting safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment.
  • Teach functional living skills, such as anger management, social/communication skills, and emotional coping skills, based on individual treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate client care services and ensure continuity of care.
  • Complete and chart client observations in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  • Conduct ongoing checks, including personal belongings, room checks, and grounds checks, based on agency policy and procedure.
  • Ensure protective oversight of clients, monitor their condition, and follow agency policy and procedure regarding medical emergencies or elopement.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments as needed and appropriate.
  • Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations when needed.
  • Distribute medications and document such based on agency policy and procedure.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or, Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or Behavioral Health Field.
  • Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, ability to obtain a Class E license, and proof of continuous auto insurance.
