Diagnostic Sonographer

As a Diagnostic Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will perform diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Your expertise will be essential in scheduling and coordinating tests, recording test results, and preparing and maintaining operational logs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations
- Document patient assessment and history
- Provide patient education and support
- Operate computer and ultrasound equipment for image production and documentation
- Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity
- Perform quality control measures to ensure optimal images
- Enter and complete patient information, including exam charges and supplies, into the Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Prepare films for interpretation by the radiologist in an accurate and timely manner
- Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to unique department needs and respond appropriately
- Communicate abnormal situations to proper sources to facilitate resolution and/or tracking
- Actively engage with healthcare providers to ensure quality, continuity, and appropriateness of care
- Follow department procedures, processes, and policies
- Practice safety measures in radiography by adhering to governing regulations
- Follow universal precautions, infection control guidelines, and sterile technique
- Comply with all governing regulations
- Stock and clean exam rooms and work areas
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Apply the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice
- Minimum one year of experience in Ultrasonography (new graduates from KPGA-affiliated ultrasound program educational institutions accepted)
- Graduate of AMA-approved Ultrasonography Program
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate
- Basic Life Support
- Basic PC skills (keyboarding and navigation)
- Minimum two years of experience in Ultrasonography
- Customer service aptitude demonstrated through Customer Service Assessment
