Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for coordinating the overall provision of respiratory care, planning, developing, and implementing respiratory care programs.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and monitor respiratory and PAP therapy equipment
- Communicate with physicians and serve as a resource on PAP therapy
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and resolve patient issues
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy and communication style
- Associates degree in Science or related field
- Current valid state license/certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- BLS - Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Experience with Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy (CPAP or BIPAP)
- Fluency in other language(s)
This role requires the ability to travel throughout and between facilities, with occasional exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
