Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant II to join our team at South Shore Health. As a Nursing Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care and supporting the nursing staff in our Obstetrics Birthing Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing direct patient care, including basic care tasks and phlebotomy services.
  • Transport patients safely via wheelchair or stretcher, and other devices.
  • Perform patient safety rounds, utilizing principles of SBAR, and communicate any identified patient or staff safety risks.
  • Collaborate with the patient and family to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Participate in continued learning and possess a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Previous Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.
