ICU Veterinary Technician Job Description

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate veterinary technician to join our ICU care team. As a veterinary technician in our ICU, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities:
  • Anesthesia procedural monitoring
  • Full Technician Skill Utilization
  • Collecting patient histories & physical exams
  • Medication refills, and Pet parent communication
  • Proficient in medical calculations
  • Venipuncture / IVC placement
  • Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
  • Providing compassionate care for all patients
Requirements:
  • Positive and motivated individual
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic life support certification
