Join Our Team as a Licensed Practical Nurse

VitalCore Health Strategies, a leading provider of correctional healthcare, is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Berrien County Jail in St. Joseph, Michigan.

About the Role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will deliver high-quality patient care, working closely with our healthcare team to provide comprehensive services to inmates. As an LPN, you will be responsible for tasks, activities, and functions as delegated, and may make assignments to others as defined by state practice acts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality patient care, monitoring patients as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, or Medical Director.
  • Implement nursing care within the LPN's scope of practice, adhering to all laws and regulations governing practice.
  • Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Care for wounds, administer medications, and provide vital sign monitoring.
  • Document actions and medical records.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Possesses an active CPR certification.
  • Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
