Respiratory Care Specialist

Job SummaryThe Respiratory Care Specialist coordinates and delivers high-quality patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Neonate Resuscitation (NRP) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 months of employment start date.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) certified through the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist licensed through the NBRC.
- High School Graduate/GED or Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Certificate.
- Ability to work nights and rotating weekends.
- A competitive salary range of $ $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
