Wound Care Specialist

A Wound Care Specialist position is available at PACS Inc, where you will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in our long-term care facility.
This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to read and write effectively, and independent decision-making when necessary.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing direct nursing care, administering medications, wound care, and vital sign checks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Nursing Care Functions: Administer medications, perform wound care, and conduct vital sign checks.
- Charting and Documentation: Accurately document resident care and treatment in medical records.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians.
- Staff Development: Participate in in-service training classes and provide feedback to colleagues.
- Safety and Sanitation: Monitor resident areas for safety hazards and report any concerns to the nurse supervisor.
- Equipment and Supply Functions: Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend orders as needed.
- Care Plan and Assessment Functions: Review care plans daily and make recommendations for changes as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
- Must maintain all required continuing education/licensing.
Work Environment: This position works in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday and push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
