Histology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at HistoWiz. As a Histology Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex histological procedures, maintaining accurate records, and recommending operational changes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related subject and at least two years of technical experience in a histology laboratory. Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) is desirable but not required.

Main Duties:

  • Perform routine and special histological procedures involving specimen accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (routine and special)
  • Follow strict SOP and complete required job-related training as necessary
  • Evaluate, modify, or develop procedures to meet special requirements of particular research studies
  • Maintain accurate records of all specimens worked with
  • Documentation of all work progress in our Laboratory Information Systems
  • Design and recommend processes, systems, and operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related subject
  • At least two years of technical experience in a histology laboratory
  • Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) is desirable but not required
  • Experience in preclinical research setting preferred
  • Flexible work schedule and the ability to work a late / weekend shift preferred
