Digital RF Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital RF Design Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and delivering custom end-to-end RF communications systems built around software defined radios.
As a Digital RF Design Engineer, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers to develop innovative solutions for complex problems. You will be responsible for developing portable communication devices and miniature wireless systems through board-level integration of high-speed digital and RF components, commercially available chipsets, and embedded processors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop RF communications systems and components
- Integrate and test RF systems and components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions
- Support evaluation and testing of designs through design validation, field testing, and troubleshooting
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of hardware design experience, taking designs from concept to fully integrated system through debugging, integration, and system level test
- Proficient with high-speed digital, analog, and RF printed circuit board design and integration
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain a Final Secret level clearance
