Medical Assistant Clinical Preceptor

The Medical Assistant Clinical Preceptor is responsible for providing hands-on training and clinical teaching to students in the medical assistant field. This role involves student supervision, liaison with health centers, and ensuring students gain the necessary knowledge and skills for entry-level employment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and instruct student hands-on training at designated locations and times.
- Teach specified hands-on training in the medical assistant curriculum, ensuring a strong understanding of topics and preparing trainings according to the course curriculum.
- Guide, facilitate, supervise, and monitor student performance to achieve clinical objectives.
- Keep track of students' clinical performances and create effective means of rewarding excelling students.
- Collaborate with the Work-Based Learning and Apprenticeship Director to review student progress toward meeting clinical learning objectives.
- Certified Medical Assistant or LPN degree, licensed in North Carolina.
- Medical Assistant Certification with demonstrated competency in teaching the field.
- Five years of related occupational experience.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations.
- Frequent sitting, standing, or walking for long periods.
- Operation of standard office machines and mobile devices.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Typical office environment with travel around the state.
- Occasional out-of-state travel.
