Clinical Research Nurse Specialist

PotomacWave Consulting is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse Specialist to oversee critical data collection initiatives for a Federal client. This role involves managing daily operations for designated programs, formulating and executing guidelines, and collaborating with government officials to establish program goals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical research management and presenting findings to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate advanced field testing and evaluation (T&E) related to casualty simulation data collection.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports to leadership to ensure adherence to protocol requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research personnel to maintain current regulatory documents and study protocols.
- Implement a tracking system for protocol submissions and approvals.
- Participate in mandatory study meetings and stay informed on all procedures and protocols.
- Supervise Data Collection Technicians and Medical Research Assistants.
- Establish and nurture relationships with local organizations.
- Assess, plan, and evaluate simulations to gather necessary data.
- Conduct data collection activities and administrative tasks in support of research studies.
- Execute medical concept demonstration scenarios across various locations.
- Develop training materials and resources for medical research participants and data collection staff.
- Coordinate with the PI to schedule and execute studies.
- Lead daily debriefing sessions with medics regarding evaluated technologies.
- Compile and present a Field Evaluation After Action Report.
- Document insights, challenges, evaluation outcomes, and recommendations.
- Assess personnel performance during medical and field evaluations.
- Provide on-site support and updates to leadership during field events and exercises.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in Nursing and medical research project management.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Proficient in data collection methodologies and computer skills for information capture.
- Experience in briefing senior leaders on project progress.
- Proven ability to initiate research projects, including understanding and interpreting protocols for establishing research locations.
- Knowledge of data collection techniques and the ability to set up data collection sensors.
- Willingness to travel for data collection and training activities, including weekends.
- Capability to adapt medical scenarios to local data collection environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain Tier 1 Public Trust clearance.
