Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for Patient Interactions
    • Review patient charts, schedules, and medical records to ensure accurate and thorough documentation.
    • Generate necessary forms for patient education, informed consent, and documentation of care.
    • Obtain medical records, lab results, and diagnostic study results as needed.
    • Inspect the physical care environment to ensure a therapeutic and sanitary environment.
    • Ensure that necessary medications, supplies, and equipment are available for patient interactions.
    • Communicate with internal and external resources to procure necessary supplies and information.
    • Collaborate with scheduling, billing, and other internal departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Provide Direct Patient Care
    • Cultivate a nurturing atmosphere of courtesy, compassion, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism in all interactions.
    • Measure, report, and record vital signs.
    • Obtain and record patient information relevant to medical history.
    • Verify the accuracy of recorded and reported patient information.
    • Position, drape, and prepare patients for procedures and provider interactions.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and ancillary staff to maintain patient flow.
    • Administer IM injections and collect urine specimens as needed.
    • Provide patient education through written and oral communication or other means as directed by providers.
    • Assist physicians, nurses, and other care providers during assessments, examinations, procedures, and other patient interactions.
    • Report, document, and record relevant information about patient condition, treatment, expectations, and progress.
  • Requirements
    • Maintain current CPR certification.
    • Procedure Room Tech experience preferred.
    • Able to measure and record vital signs manually and electronically.
    • Basic computer knowledge required.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Pain management office experience preferred.
