Role Overview:
As a Property Claims Specialist, you will investigate and manage property claims, determining liability, gathering information, reviewing coverage, coordinating appraisals, and settling claims. This position is essential in supporting our Claims Division's goal of delivering exceptional customer service and collaborating with agencies to ensure a seamless claims experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate the origin and cause of claims by engaging with relevant parties, including insured individuals, claimants, agents, and experts.
  • Identify complex issues and seek assistance when necessary, handling claims with integrity.
  • Manage both first-party and third-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
  • Conduct on-site inspections as required, assess damages, and negotiate claims with involved parties.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, make informed decisions, and close files as appropriate.
  • Interpret and apply policy details, leases, and contracts to assigned losses.
  • Proactively communicate the claims process and status to all parties, addressing questions or redirecting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions and support.
  • Experience in handling first-party and third-party claims across multiple lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex claims.
  • Strong understanding of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the claims handling process.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • State-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.

Travel Expectations:

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Potential for catastrophe duty requiring travel up to 75% as applicable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate various environments, including those with higher hazards than typical office settings.
  • Capability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to varying temperatures and outdoor elements.
  • Ability to work in noisy environments and confined spaces.
