About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team at Pronto. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of our Autonomous Haulage System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to test our autonomous systems, including hardware, software, and robotics components.
  • Define minimum operating requirements for our systems to ensure they meet the necessary standards.
  • Identify and test edge cases to ensure our systems can handle unexpected scenarios.
  • Evaluate long-term productivity metrics to optimize system performance.
  • Evaluate stability of components and/or features to ensure they meet our quality standards.
  • Automate testing for use by operations team to streamline our testing process.
  • Document and debug issues in hardware sensors/actuators, software features, user interface, etc.
  • Work with the team to deploy releases in a mission-critical environment.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience in a related field.
  • Able to create and debug software systems with good diagnostics and scalability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to handle ambiguous or undefined problems.
  • Experience performing root-cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience defining requirements and design docs for new tools to increase testing capabilities.
  • Experience in robotic systems and/or data science, particularly in autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with continuous build, integration, test, and delivery systems to ensure smooth deployment.
  • Proficiency in Python and modern C++, including object-oriented design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and operations teams to achieve goals.
  • Experience with git and version control systems.
