We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician I or II to join our team at Griffin Memorial Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing non-professional direct or indirect care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient care setting.
About the Position
Under close supervision, you will participate in de-escalation activities and ensure the safety of consumers. You will also act as a role model, demonstrating effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, and assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for consumers. Additionally, you will transport residents to and from medical appointments and ensure scheduled programming is carried out.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide non-professional direct or indirect care for consumers of behavioral health treatment
- Participate in de-escalation activities and ensure consumer safety
- Act as a role model, demonstrating effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for consumers
- Transport residents to and from medical appointments
- Ensure scheduled programming is carried out
Requirements
- Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety
- Must believe that recovery is possible
- Level II: 1 year of behavioral health patient care experience required
