Key Responsibilities- Medication Management: Monitor and supervise the operation of our centralized intravenous admixture program, ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of medications for patients.
- Unit-Dose Distribution: Supervise the unit-dose drug distribution program, ensuring the accurate and prompt delivery of medications to hospital inpatients.
- Drug Information: Provide current and accurate drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, including new medications, dosage requirements, indications, contraindications, and pharmacology.
- Outpatient Prescriptions: Supervise the accurate and efficient dispensing of outpatient prescriptions for discharge, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and employee patients.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, purchasing technicians, pharmacy technicians, and other hospital personnel to promote rational drug therapy.
- Training and Supervision: Train and supervise technical staff members, externs, and interns in established policies and procedures for our hospital and clinics.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the drug use evaluation process and contribute to quality improvement activities to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Current licensure in good standing in the State of Florida
- Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
