Position Overview:

The Gorilla Glue Company is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist. The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of Quality Assurance practices and demonstrate the capability to manage multiple initiatives within a dynamic environment, collaborating with various teams across the organization. Daily Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal quality outcomes while maintaining a cost-effective approach.
  • Thoroughly analyze and troubleshoot both new and existing processes, effectively communicating quality risks and resolving issues independently or as part of a team.
  • Utilize statistical methods to analyze data for identifying quality issues or validating new equipment and processes.
  • Create control plans for both internal and external parties involved in new product development projects and the launch of new packaging formats.
  • Establish quality control plans that outline testing protocols for products during receiving inspections and ongoing performance evaluations for OTCs, cosmetics, and adhesive products. Follow general testing strategies while also critically assessing and incorporating tests that address specific risks to consumer safety, product performance, or overall quality.
  • Oversee the Supplier Non-Conformance system.
  • Make informed decisions regarding project priorities.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a high level of business acumen to balance consumer safety, product quality, cost efficiency, and overall product performance.
  • Conduct audits of supply chain partners.
  • Draft clear procedures for operator, technician, or engineering tasks.
  • Specify tools required for inspections or testing.
  • Perform Gage R&R exercises as necessary.
  • Review supplier corrective actions and critically assess their adequacy.
  • Input data into tracking systems, such as supplier scorecards, and publish as needed.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting, specifically in a Quality role.
  • Green or Black Belt Six Sigma (or Lean) Certification is preferred.
  • ASQ CQE certification is preferred.
  • Experience with GMP or ISO:9001 quality systems is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking; using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; talking or hearing. Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for reading handwritten or typed materials, with the ability to focus. The position demands the individual to manage multiple tasks from various sources and collaborate with other staff members.

Willingness to travel up to 30% is required. Travel demands may vary throughout the year, with peaks at certain times and lulls at others.
