We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Attorney to join our team in the Banking Regulation and Policy Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for drafting memoranda to the Board, staff opinion letters, legislative and regulatory proposals, and similar documents.
Furthermore, you will furnish legal opinions and advice and respond to System and public inquiries concerning Federal statutes, interpretations, and opinions concerning the supervision and regulation of financial institutions, regulatory responsibilities of the Board, Reserve Bank matters, and related issues.
In this role, you will make oral presentations at meetings with Board members and perform more difficult assignments under general supervision from more experienced attorneys.
The successful candidate will have at least four years of work experience as a practicing attorney in private practice or government agency and general knowledge in the regulation of financial institutions or in the regulation of securities, derivatives, insurance or commodities.
A salary of $120,000 to $200,000 per year is estimated based on the location and job requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting legal documents and regulatory proposals
- Providing legal opinions and advice
- Responding to inquiries and making presentations
- Analyzing complex bank merger and consolidation transactions
- Reviewing and analyzing proposed amendments to Federal banking laws and regulations
