Sport Performance Coach-Intern

This is a 12-month full-time position that includes a monthly stipend, room, board, and full benefits. As a Sport Performance Coach-Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Athletic Director of Sport Performance with all operations of the sport performance program.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Assist in developing and implementing training programs for Juniata's 24 varsity sport programs.
- Team Management: Oversee the hiring, training, and development of volunteer interns and student employees, including handling administrative paperwork and education.
- Facility Management: Monitor access to the fitness center exclusively for Juniata students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Liability and Safety: Track liability waiver completion and fitness center usage via software platform system.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with coaches and Athletic Trainers to monitor strength, fitness, and rehabilitation programs.
- Professional Development: Stay abreast of current advances in physiology and kinesiology of human performance while bringing creative approaches, ideas, and solutions to the supervisor.
- Maintenance and Operations: Supervise and perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance of equipment.
- Facility Maintenance: Work with Athletic Operations staff to put in work orders for facility maintenance as needed.
- Relationship Building: Create and maintain positive relationships with campus partners.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
- Certifications: Certified in CPR, First Aid, AED is required. Certification from NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC required.
- Knowledge and Adherence: Knowledge and adherence to Juniata College, NCAA Division III, and Conference (Landmark and CVC) rules and regulations.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license required, clear of major violations. Juniata College reserves the right to review driving records to determine suitability for position.
- Experience: Experience at the collegiate level preferred.
