About the Role

Cyber Operations Specialists play a critical role in safeguarding the cyber domain by conducting integrated and synchronized offensive and defensive operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide critical intelligence and network support to protect against cyber threats.
  • Collect, analyze, and report digital data to inform decision-making.
  • Maintain and evaluate network defense tools and operations.
  • Respond to incidents in cyberspace and conduct surveillance and reconnaissance actions.
  • Perform network terrain audits, penetration testing, and software threat analysis.
Training and Certification

Cyber Operations Specialists undergo rigorous training, including 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and two phases of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Phase one includes 25 weeks of training in Corry Station, Florida, and phase two lasts 20 weeks in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Upon completion, specialists receive industry-leading certifications, including CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and CISCO Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).

The U.S. Army is a diverse organization with various components, including the regular Army, Army Reserve Ohio, Army Reserve Kentucky, and Army Reserve West Virginia. Regular Army Soldiers serve full-time, while Army Reservists fill critical roles in their communities.
