Your Role and Responsibilities

  • This position will concentrate on underwriting both new and renewal business, contributing to the profitable expansion of our Environmental and Retail Casualty division.
  • You will evaluate risk attractiveness through regular interactions with brokers, close collaboration with AIG subject matter experts, and thorough analyses of claims history and company data.
  • Your ability to cultivate relationships with brokers will be crucial for your success. You are expected to deliver exceptional service through a consistent, timely, and proactive underwriting approach. Additionally, you will aim to generate new business by broadening your broker network, participating in broker events, and establishing new market relationships, in alignment with a sales strategy developed with your supervisor.
  • A significant aspect of your role will involve providing precise monthly management reports, including submissions, bind rates, average premiums, and total premiums.

Qualifications for Success

  • Prior experience in Casualty underwriting and/or pollution insurance is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and across various sectors of the company and industries.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Customer-focused and sales-oriented mindset: Positive, collaborative, self-driven, determined, focused, technically proficient, proactive, and accountable.

For positions based in San Francisco, CA, the base salary range is $70,000 - $82,000, and the role is eligible for a bonus as per the applicable incentive plan. We are proud to offer a competitive benefits package, details of which can be found in our AIG Benefits Overview.
