Position Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Project Management Controls Expert to enhance our team. This role requires expertise in project oversight and financial management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Financial Analysts to streamline client invoicing processes, manage sub-consultant billing, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and support project proposals and additional service requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to client contracts and proposals, including project initiation, rate validation, data entry, invoice examination, and project completion protocols;
  • Maintain consistent communication with Project Managers, Financial Analysts, and senior leadership to address budgetary, cost management, and invoicing requirements;
  • Participate in monthly project review sessions with senior management, focusing on accounts receivable, ongoing work, and project financials;
  • Conduct monthly financial assessments to evaluate billing rates, expense markup, and write-offs to ensure accurate revenue reporting and profitability;
  • Provide support for proposal submissions and pricing strategies, including coordination of sub-consultant agreements and invoicing management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting;
  • 2-5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in engineering or consulting;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a willingness to learn internal systems;
  • Project management certification is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision is a plus;
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining confidentiality;
  • Capacity to meet established deadlines;
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a collaborative team member.
