Job Title: Survey Crew Chief

Are you a seasoned survey professional looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic field crew? We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief to oversee the daily operations of our land survey crew.

Job Summary

The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for determining the most efficient plans for data acquisition on a range of field surveys, from primary control to construction layout and as-built surveys. This role requires expertise in documentation, communication, and technical skills to interact with clients, interpret construction drawings, and ensure that all aspects of the land survey project meet specifications and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew
  • Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys
  • Document work performed and sketches
  • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and land owners
  • Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerances
  • Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork
  • Maintain land surveying vehicle and field equipment
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in surveying
  • Experience in supervision and leadership
  • Proficient in GNSS receivers, data collectors, and Trimble equipment
