Are you an experienced survey professional looking to lead a dynamic field crew? We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief to oversee the daily operations of our land survey crew. In this role, you'll determine the most efficient plans for data acquisition on a range of field surveys, from primary control to construction layout and as-built surveys. Your expertise in documentation, communication, and technical skills will be key as you interact with clients, interpret construction drawings, and ensure that all aspects of the land survey project meet specifications and tolerances.

With over 5 years of industry experience and a solid background in Construction Layout, you will operate advanced equipment, including total stations and GNSS receivers, and maintain our surveying vehicles and field tools. Your solid work ethic, team-player attitude, and ability to adapt to various terrains and weather conditions will make you an essential part of our team.

salary: $52,000 - $72,800 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • The geomatics crew chief oversees the daily field operations of a land survey crew
  • Determine most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys ranging from primary control through construction layout and as-built surveys, as needed
  • Proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches
  • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding land survey project schedule and work progress
  • Interact professionally with client representative and land owners
  • Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications and understand all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerances
  • Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork
  • Maintain land surveying vehicle and field equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
