Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and Analysis

You will be responsible for designing and analyzing highway bridges, preparing designs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and specifications. You will also work closely with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget.

Bridge Design and Load Ratings

You will perform bridge designs and load ratings using spreadsheets, finite element software, and/or other bridge software. Your experience with AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, and other North American design codes will be essential in ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Client Relationships

You will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their objectives are met and their needs are exceeded. Your ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with stakeholders will be critical in building trust and delivering exceptional results.

Project Coordination

You will assist in coordinating staff and design efforts on projects, including structures lead roles. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will enable you to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education and Experience

You should have a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a Master's degree. A minimum of 12 years of experience in bridge design and analysis is required, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results under pressure.

Certifications and Licenses

A registered PE or SE certification is highly desirable. Familiarity with design build and alternative delivery methods is also a plus.

Skills and Competencies

You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
